USA Pro Cycling Challenge is coming! The USA Pro Cycling Challenge (USAPCC) Bike Race makes it way through the Gunnison Valley on August 23rd and August 24th. The stage from Gunnison to Aspen, leaving downtown Gunnison at 10am on Wednesday, August 24th, will be the hardest, longest and highest of the entire race, summiting two 12,000 foot passes in one day. This race section has been named the "Queen Stage". This stage will certainly separate the true competitors from the peloton. Remember - at 12,095 feet above sea level, the oxygen level is only 60% of what they inhale at sea level.
Volunteers are needed for the Gunnison pass-through day, Tuesday, August23rd and for the "Queen Stage Start" on August 24th. If you are interested in volunteering, go to http://www.usaprocyclingchallenge.com/ and click on "volunteer" . Fill out the form and you can volunteer for a variety of positions.
