Smoke to the South

Several folks have called Gunnison Communications inquiring about the smoke visible in the sky to the south of Gunnison.  The plume of smoke is from the Little Sand Fire, located in southern Colorado by the town of Pagosa Springs.  The wind shifted for a time this afternoon and directed the smoke plume from that fire northward towards Gunnison.  There is NO FIRE in the immediate vicinity of the Gunnison Valley at this time.

Again, be aware there is a Gunnison County and State-wide Fire Ban in effect.  Open burning is not allowed and the use of fireworks is strictly PROHIBITED.
