There's a lot to do in Gunnison this weekend. Now that we've finally had some snow, Gunnison Nordic Club is hosting the "Kenny Mac Ski Festival" at Mill Creek. Fun starts on Saturday, January 28th at 8:30am. You can participate in races or just do a fun tour. Wear a costume, old-style nordic ski togs or whatever makes you happy. It's a fun celebration honoring the birthday of the late Ken MacLennan, one of the founders of the Gunnison Nordic Club. An after-ski party will be held in the Mill Creek trailhead parking lot with Mario's pizza, and even birthday cake will be served! Carpooling is encouraged since parking is limited. For more information go to www.gunnisonnordic.org Get your skiiny skis and we'll see you there.
On Sunday, head over to the gym at the Gunnison Community Center. The Sectionals of the Denver Nuggets Basketball Skills Challenge will take place starting at 10am. Kids from around the western slope will show off their awesome hoop skills!
