Indoor Soccer Program

The air is cold and the grass in the parks is crunchy.  But, you can still practice soccer!  Training during the winter months is crucial for the development of youth soccer players.  They can use the off-season to work on their individual skills and increase their tactical understanding of the game.

The indoor soccer training program will give players an opportunity to learn new skills and practice existing skills in a warm and productive environment.  The program is coached by Jason Lain.

A FUN time was had by all

The City of Gunnison had two fun events in the past few days!

Downtown Halloween Crowd
The Downtown Halloween Event on the afternoon of October 31st, was a successful and fun time.  The City blocked off the first 3 blocks of North Main Street and the little ghosts and goblins had a great time trick or treating at the participating businesses downtown.  There were even zombies dancing in the middle of the street!  The streets were cleared and the Main Street thoroughfare was reopened in time for the after work traffic to proceed home to their own trick or treaters!
Downtown Zombies!

Downtown Trick or Treater
BIG THANKS to the Chamber of Commerce for sponsoring the event, the VERY generous and fun-loving downtown merchants who participated in the event, the City Public Works crew for providing the barricades and the Gunnison Police Department for ensuring everyone's safety.

The second amazing event was the dedication of the City's new Jorgensen Skatepark.  The
City received a GOCO grant to fund the project, and the contractor "Team Pain" was fantastic in their design, construction and expertise in completing the fabulous bowls.
A crowd gathered on Saturday morning, November 3rd for the dedication.  Many local service organizations, individuals and businesses contributed to the project.  The Parks crew was instrumental in the success of the project.  As the skatepark was completed, local skaters and bikers lined up for their chance to try out the new concrete!
Catching Air
If you haven't seen the skatepark - head over to the south side of Jorgensen Park (next to the BMX track) and Check It Out!

It's GNAR...
