Bye-Bye Christmas Trees - Hello Mulch!

Your Christmas Tree can be recycled into useable ground mulch! You can take your tree to the City tree dump on County Road 51. If the gate is not open, leave your tree to the left of the locked gate. Please, DO NOT leave it in front of the gate.

In addition, you can leave your tree in the alley next to your refuse pickup spot and the City crews will pick up the trees the week of January 3rd. Make sure that all stands, ornaments, garland, lights and tinsel are removed from the tree. These don't make good mulch.

The trees will be ground up next summer into mulch that will be used to make the City's famous "Gunnison Gold" compost. Happy New Year!
